At Bridgewater State University, Ready Campus, built on the industry-leading CampusGroups platform, has enhanced the student experience by centralizing academic, social, and organizational resources into one platform––Engage BSU––available on both web and mobile. Features like the class roster, which allows students to see who is in their classes before the semester starts, are especially helpful for first-year students adjusting to campus life.
"Access to resources—from academic tools to event listings—has been a huge benefit for students" shared Matt Miller, Director at the Center for Student Engagement. "The platform’s social features also help students connect through community channels."
For Skyla Garrigan, a senior and Student Engagement Assistant, Ready Campus has been indispensable. The platform helps students track assignments, manage due dates, and communicate with classmates while supporting co-curricular involvement. "As a first-year student, I relied on it to view my courses and schedule. It’s great to have everything in one spot," she shared.
As President of the American Cancer Society on campus, Skyla uses the platform to organize club workflows, manage reservations, and coordinate events. "I literally live on Engage BSU," she added, highlighting how critical the platform has become to her daily routine.

Boosting Engagement Across Campus
Bridgewater’s commuter-heavy student population benefits greatly from the platforms’ comprehensive features. Commuter students mostly use the platform for academics and event registration, but it also encourages broader engagement in campus life.
"We teach first-year students to use it from day one, which helps them form habits that increase involvement in campus life. Many discover events through the app and decide to participate," said Skyla, who served as an orientation leader during her sophomore year.
Administrators also heavily rely on Ready Campus for its streamlined workflows and robust capabilities. "We have staff and students focused on encouraging platform adoption. Many of us use it daily for workflows, forms, and supporting student organizations, including managing payments and contracts," Miller explained.
Simplifying Processes for Students and Staff
Engage BSU makes life easier by streamlining processes for both students and staff. Administrators heavily use the platform for event promotion, registration, and supporting student organizations. The fact that the platform consolidates so many different resources and processes saves time while enhancing the overall experience. "We replaced four separate forms with a single workflow, which has made a significant difference," Miller explained.
Students enjoy the platform’s convenience, whether checking grades, managing club meetings, or organizing their schedules. "It’s great to look up emails for group projects or get announcements without logging into multiple systems," said Skyla. For her work as a Student Engagement Assistant, Engage BSU is vital: "I handle all club reservations and approvals—it’s a one-stop shop."

Student engagement has significantly increased since Ready Campus was implemented. The platform has also created a better user experience for students and administrators. This is reflected in the following user stats:

"I live on Engage BSU. It helps me track assignments, manage due dates, and connect with classmates while supporting campus involvement. Through the platform, I found my people—and a job. Getting involved transformed my college experience."
"The more we integrate Ready Campus, the clearer its benefits become—streamlining four forms into one workflow is just one example of the efficiencies we've gained."
Driving Community and Student Success
Engage BSU goes beyond academics to foster a sense of belonging and well-being outside the classroom. Its tools connect students to clubs, job opportunities, and like-minded peers. "The platform helped me find my people and get a job as a Student Engagement Assistant. Getting involved in campus life has transformed my college experience for the better," Skyla shared.
From the administrative perspective, the platform’s growing adoption highlights its value. "The more we integrate Ready Campus into our workflows, the more everyone recognizes its benefits. The engagement data we are collecting is key to gaining buy-in from both students and staff," said Miller.
Student and Administrator Feedback
Skyla emphasized the platform’s widespread use. "Most students use it three to four times a week, if not more," highlighting its central role in both academic and social aspects of campus life.
The platform supports engagement throughout the student journey. First-year students use Ready Campus as an entry point for orientation, while graduating students leverage it for resources like event registrations, cap and gown requests, financial aid assistance, and workshops on post-graduation success. "The platform helps create a cohesive experience, even for transfer students or those taking longer to graduate," Miller noted.
Administrators are equally enthusiastic about the platform. One of the platform’s standout features is its ability to provide actionable insights through student engagement data. "The more we integrate into Ready Campus, the more value everyone sees. The data we collect is key to driving adoption and engagement," said Miller.

Using Data to Drive Engagement
The analytics have also been a game-changer for Bridgewater State. “We use participation data to identify less-engaged students and send targeted messages to encourage involvement," Miller explained. These personalized outreach efforts have significantly improved student engagement.
Looking Ahead
By integrating academic tools, co-curricular activities, and data analytics, Ready Campus supports Bridgewater State University’s mission to enhance the student experience and foster a connected campus community. Whether through streamlined processes, personalized communication, or information on upcoming class assignments, the platform plays a critical role in shaping a thriving and cohesive campus environment.
